Question: Sorry if this is a dumb question, but can I use a debit card for a credit card? I know that it will use my own money from my own account but is there an option for credit – like an overdraft? Jason Vic
Answer: This is an excellent question, and one I’m sure many people have.
In many cases a debit card will allow you to overdraw the account – effectively giving you credit. Of course there will be fees and charges involved if your debit card provider offers these credit options so read the fine print, terms and conditions are just as important with debit cards as they are with credit cards.
